Outside the Windy City
lives the Lady Finnegan -
Carol dearly loves the Lord Jehovah
and is a part of His earthly plan.
Her heart has been pierced
by God's Holy Spirit;
for she placed her life before Him
and has chosen to submit.
Her adoration for the King
has burst forth with heart's joy,
from reading her great nephew's literature
within the borders of Illinois.
Now she's become God's messenger
via her gifts of Joe's Christian poetry -
For the fragrance of God's Love
envelopes her with scrip…

Shalom,
In 1896 D. A. Chwolson discovered a Hebrew manuscript containing large portions (Chapters 1-4; 7:27-9:22, 28a, 31, 73; 6:1-14a) of 1Maccabees in Hebrew in the Biblioteque National in Paris France. In 1901 the Text was published again by Albert Schweitzer who was convinced that these were large extracts from the original Hebrew. In his 1903 review in the Journal of Biblical Literature (JBL xxii, 51-59) Charles Cutler Torrey concluded that this version of 1Maccabees was “translated… from…

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. Back in the Spring of 1980, I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.A. in Mathematics. I chose this discipline because it was my favorite subject in school. This poem is the first and only piece (to date), where I apply this learned knowledge.
Back in February of 2007, I found a poetry contest - its challenge wa…

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I briefly look at the crucifixion of Christ - an event central to the core beliefs of Christianity. This poem was composed in February 2007, in anticipation of that year's celebration of Resurrection Sunday (Easter).
If I were relegated to a single television channel, it would be the "History Channel". It's am…

1. What caused you to write a book and have it published?
Thankfully, I’ve enjoyed a career in IT (Information technology) for over 25+ years. However, I’ve been downsized out of a job four times – the last time in 2005, I was unemployed for nine months. During that time, I looked at over 19,000+ companies to find one job. With more jobs in my field being outsourced to lower wage earners overseas, I decided I needed an exit strategy from the corporate world to launch a more stable career and inc…

In Acts 23:6 Paul proclaims without reservation “I am a Pharisee”. This comes as a shock to many Christians who have a poor understanding of what it means to be a Pharisee.
Part of the reason for this is that the Christian understanding of what a Pharisee is has been defined by Christian commentators, not by Pharisaic sources. As a result, in Christian culture, the word “Pharisee” has come to be used idiomatically to mean “hypocrite”.
Of course Rabbinic Judaism is the modern descendant of Phar…

The Gospel According to the Hebrews is a "lost" apocryphal Gospel used anciently by the ancient Nazarenes and Ebionites. While no copies of this document have survived, much of it has survived in about fifty quotations and citations from it made by various ancient sources. Using these materials and other information at our disposal, we have reconstructed the complete text (at least as complete as we can have it at this date).
Barnes wrote:
…the Gospel according to the Hebrews by its very title…

On August 12th, 1553, at the petition of Pietro, Cardinal Caraffa, the Inquisitor General, Pope Julius III signed a decree banning the Talmud in Rome. The decree was executed on September 9th (Rosh HaShanna) and anything that looked like the Talmud, that is, anything written in Hebrew characters was confiscated as the Jewish homes and synagogues were ravished. Jean DuTillet, Bishop of Brieu, France was visiting Rome at the time. DuTillet was astounded to take notice of a Hebrew manuscript of Mat…

'' In God We Trust."
Many are getting upset from the emails that are
circulating and from what I've read.
They plan to remove the quote "In God We Trust"
off the currency at least that's what the emails said.
First of all god is a title and not a name there are many
gods and Lucifer is the one that they trust in believe me.
When you read in Scripture you'll see he is the god of this
age he is the one they worship through many names you see.
Webster defines god as a being conceived as perfect, o…
