A place for parents who are raising their children according to Torah can discuss what is working and what is not. A place for support during tough times. A place for encouragement in raising children in the world but certainly not of the world.

Hi Cathy - What a praise that is to say you had a day of "Shalom." You are correct in understanding the key to the way we walk daily no matter what we face. Its not the test we are in that makes us who we are its how we respond to it that does. As I get older and I am sure you do the same is I've asked HaShem "What am I supposed to learn from this?" Most times there is no immediate answer and well lets say 99.98% of the time. However it definitely does make you wonder what in the world am I being prepared for? When I think of that passage in James 1about "counting it all joy when you face diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith works patience." (James 1:2-3) Okay so repeating that verse in the midst of a trial to anyone could be like asking a woman who is pmsing if its about that time of month! HAHAHA Well anyway I do pray that HaShem will pull you into that Cleft of that Rock and Hide you there so that you will find his restoration.

Shalom
Chav

Hey Cathy - am glad you are having a much better week, and I sooo agree with you about how grace(less) we can be when we are being "stretched" and refined by the Most High. I too have a lot of "owwie's" from the bumps and nicks in getting through those rough places. Something I remember that HaShem reminded me of fairly recently is that verse in Hebrews 12:11 about chastising those he loves who are his sons (daughters) but in the end we will reap "peaceable fruits of righteousness" for those who have been trained by it. Okay from what I have gathered in a hebraic thinking is that for those who have been trained in Torah we will have Shalom through our obedience whose fruits are of righteousness. It wasnt easy for Israel in the wilderness but the outcome was receiving the promise. When I've gone through those rough times, "boy howdy" (as us texans would say) it sure is painful to get through! All you and I can do is pray to get to the place of where it isnt so hard. Now there is a verse also that relates to what I just said and it has really convicted me especially now as I read it. Psalms 119:165 Those who love your Torah have great shalom. Nothing causes them to stumble. Now KJV says for stumble is "offend" and that made me think how many times I have been easily offended by word, actions of others or simply no action. So as I listen to the Words of David in asking Abba to "Hide him in the shadow of His Wings" (Ps 17:8) I so desire to be kept close to the Most High and the Torah to be at a place where I am not offended and stumble. Sorry for the lengthy reply I guess I am speaking to myself because as I write this HaShem is showing me things. :0) So my apologies if this seems inpersonal, as its not meant to be. Guess what I am saying is also that how well I can also relate to the refining. It hits all too close to home. Pray your day has been one of much Shalom.

Blessings in Yeshua
Chav

We really don't "do" TV. But a few months ago we felt lead to be able to watch the news. So we do. We also happened to watch a show called The Road To Jerrico on NBC. It is a very interesting show depicting life after several small nukes went off in the US. I am a visual person so it has been interesting to "see" some of the situations that have occurred on this program.

The Pride of Self

The Pride of Self We are a prideful and self serving people here in America. We as believers would like to believe that we have overcome that part of our lives. But have we? I would like to present to you another way of looking at it. Let me explain how I have come to this point. I believe in and feel led that in the end we will need to be in community. I believe we will need to live in close proximity to at least a few people for support and to share what knowledge and supplies we have. ( Wheth… Continue

Tough Times

I am writing this to friends that are REALLY going through the wringer at this time. (and that includes the Wilson's) I talked to a dear friend of mine, Lloyd, yesterday. He walks very close to the Father. While talking to him Abba began to talk to me also. The following is a combination of what Lloyd said and what was shown to me. We all know the times we live in. Time is very short. We are coming close to the end on the race. Those believers who are seeking the Father with everything they have… Continue
