Concerning the Original Hebrew of 1st Maccabees - WNAE Update
In 1896 D. A. Chwolson discovered a Hebrew manuscript containing large portions (Chapters 1-4; 7:27-9:22, 28a, 31, 73; 6:1-14a) of 1Maccabees in Hebrew in the Biblioteque National in Paris France. In 1901 the Text was published again by Albert Schweitzer who was convinced that these were large extracts from the original Hebrew. I have posted a artitical on the forum page Judaism about Purim I thought you might like to read it and comment on it.
I think it would be very enlightening for all if we were to have a debate on the issues at hand on live radio..... so if your interested.... bone up on my site yehoshvabeitmidrash.com..... I have read much of yours over the last couple of years and do know where you are coming from and why. We could start with Purim and Chankkuh they sould be strong suits for you.
And this is the oral law of the Pharisees your defending! Well you can... and lead as many as you can to follow you in that, and as long as they are seek to recover lost traditions of men that will be their focus, rather than on the living God that does save. whos voice it is that does saves. Which teaches men to keep the written law of Moses in his living conscousness which is the one and only Oral Law.
Back to what I was say about manna. The mistake the Pharisees made was joining the propheceid rebellion of Korah the Gershonite, which was later fullfilled in the Hasmons From Modin ( a town from the district of Gershon) that surplanted Moses"s authority,and taking the office of High Priest for themselves, and later usurping the throne of David for themselves. The other great mistake the Pharisses made was the idea of demanding halahka (forgive my spelling) in the first place, and this is the mistake you are making as well,
Notice what John writes in 1st john; These things have I written unto you concerning them that seek to seduce you. But the annointing which you have recieved of him abideth in you and you need not any man to teach you: but as the same anionting teaches you all things and is truth, and is no lie. and even at it has taught you you shall abide in him.
Also what Kefa said; We also have a more sure word of prophecy: wherefore ye do well that you take heed, as unto the light that that shineth in a dark place until the day dawn and the day star arises in your hearts.
The Pharisees, You, or Myself, have no such mandate to impose a codeified Oral Law on another, we are all imperfect humans which will each scew up as most evidently proven by the Phariees that killed Yehoshva for disagreeing with their halahka with their wormy manna.
Seek to teach people to seek out the living Yehoshva whos testimony is alive and active and always fullfills the written law of Moses. So they (those people) grow in a living relationship with their God: as the prophet said; "I will be their God and they will be my people." If your focus is on people following your Idea of halahka, rather than incourgaging them to come to the oral law that only comes straight to their hearts from the Day Star you do evil. And climb into your father's bed, as Reuban did;, as the Catholic pontiffs have done, as the Pharisees did. You really need to learn of the prefect Law of Liberty that James writes of 1:25 & 2:2:12 And as Moses spoke of (Deuteronomy 12:8-11) Has God given rest to Israel from its enemies round about them?...do they dwell safely? the answer is NO a resounding NO!! so it is as in the wilderness -There is but one Oral Law (only one place to worship) and that is in the anointing of Yehoshva where each person will reside till the day He physically returns. Then and only then will Yehoshva (Joshua) take us across and Joshua's words will be for all to hear That will be and that is the true Oral Law halahka. For any to try to invent an oral law and to cause others to follow it, seek to replace the Father's place in his bed. If you know Joshua was a prophecy of Yehoshva of Nazareth. Then know also that Korah is a prophecy of the rebellion from Modin of Benjamin of the district of Gershon by which the Pharisees and the Sadducees claimed their legitimacy. Of which Jude writes of. Paul unrepentant of the oral Law calling it in the perfect manner of the forefathers (denieing what Yehoshva taught concerning the same) sought to build his congregations on the same model, as you are enspousing. And in time the results will be the same as his with the gentile church' which is the fruit of his teachings wheather they misunderstood him of not. They are still his fruit. Ye shall know them by their fruits. God has poured out his Spirit on all flesh teach people to believe that rather than tieing to reconstruct what Yehoshva condenmed . And you will have fewer follower of you. But you will see more followers of Yehoshva. Then maybe you will understand the peace in what John the Baptizer said; "He must increase and I must decrease"
That was an interesting blog on the oral, Law thank you for sending it to me. It all comes down to the water gate. I don't think everything especially concerning rituals such as what took place of the last day of sukot are to be dismissed out of hand. And to this day and forward the only oral torah is Elohim speaking to each person as their personal Messiah any one who seeks to codify an oral law seeks to climb into their fathers bed like Reuban.
As far as your reference to kefa you miss the most important part of the whole exchange "Blessed are you Smion bar Jona for flesh and blood has not reveal this to you but my father in heaven"...two people can be standing in the same place and have Elohim seek seperatly different things on the same subject to bring each into a place of pleasing him. Nevertheless it is only good for the indivgaul. In the same way as the manna in the wilderness. When you or they try to codify the manna from heaven it will get worms.
