If someone was tryiing to kill you, Can wew defend ourselves?

Scripture tells us that thou shall not kill.
Know if you knew that someone going to kill you what does scripture say about defending ourselves?
Also would you kill them before they killed you?
Now I want to add a very hard part to this. Please do not be bible deep and really do not mean it. The death that they had planned for you was so horrific that it hurts just to think about it.
What would you do? Now you can give scripture and please in context thank you.
Or if you don't want to be deep just your own honest opinion. Please because I am not gonna lie here I am gonna give you mine.

Where does the scripture be wise as serpents harmless as doves fit into this.

Kill is an artifact of kjv english.
Self defense or defense of an innocent is not murder.

The contexts:
A. The 6th commandment against murder occurs after the admonition to honor your mother and father. If you're so stupid, that you let someone kill (murder) you, your are not honoring your mother and father.
B. The commandment against murder occurs before the prohibition against adultery. One is prohibited from murdering a the obstacle spouse as a means of avoiding the sin of adultery.

We need to stop thinking that everything is a conspiracy and stop the love feast because everyone is not our neighbor. Love your enemy to death. Take his a88 out. Kill him before he kills you. Confusing a lie with the truth in order for us to sin against our creator.
